The tech giant has officially acknowledged this issue, and the forum thread where Microsoft posted the announcement has received more than 46k views. This clearly proves the OS freezes are affecting more people than Microsoft had initially suspected. “Microsoft has received a small number of reports of Windows 10 freezing after installing the Anniversary Update on systems with the operating system stored on a solid-state drive (SSD) and apps and data stored on a separate drive. This issue does not occur when starting Windows 10 in Safe Mode.” Microsoft has already closed the forum thread where users vented their frustration caused by these annoying freezes, and subtly acknowledged four other major issues caused by the Anniversary Update: the screen turns black after upgrading, CPU speed gets stuck, computers boot up slowly, and the OS installation freezes midway through process. “We don’t want this one thread to lose focus so after seeing the variety of posts we have decided to lock this thread.
